Himpar editores
I am cofounder and editor at Himpar editores, a Colombian independent press. We have been publishing Latin American fiction, non-fiction, and poetry since 2014. Our craft fosters diverse and divergent literature. We also believe in publishing as a form of collaboration, where publisher and author work together to create something new.
Las raíces de la luz, a debut novel from Andrea Beaudoin, and Siete Plantas. Historias de la gente sin nombre, written by seven women, comanded by Diana Obando and Sara Muñoz, recently won the Colombian Bookseller’s prize for best non-fiction and best fiction book of 2023-2024. Our poetry book, Lengua rosa afuera gata ciega, by María Paz Guerrero, and our novel, Imagina que rompes todo, by Lina Munar, will be published in their English translations in 2025 and 2026.

I have nineteen years of experience working in publishing, including roles as an academic publisher in Colombia, a Fellow at the University of Texas Press in the US, and an independent publisher with Himpar in Colombia (I started my publishing journey VERY early on). Himpar is also a founding member of the Cámara Colombiana de la Edición Independiente, where I served as co-President in 2024. Creating books and reflecting on the book industry are among my ways of engaging with the world.
